Congratulations — your health plan enrollment is complete! Here’s what happens next and what you should be prepared for as your coverage is processed.
Benafica Submits Your Enrollment to the Insurance Carrier
After you finish your enrollment in BEN360, Benafica will securely send your information to your insurance carrier. This processing period typically takes about 1–2 weeks, depending on the carrier and the time of year. During this time, the carrier is setting up your policy in their system so your coverage can start on your plan’s effective date.
Watch for Any Follow-Up Requests
In some cases, your insurance carrier may need additional information before finalizing your plan. This could include:
- Additional identity verification
- Clarification about dependents
- Missing personal information
- A required signature or consent form
If the carrier reaches out, be sure to respond promptly to avoid delays in activating your coverage.
Insurance ID Cards
Your insurance ID cards typically arrive within 2 weeks of your plan’s start date. Depending on the carrier, you may receive:
- Physical ID cards by mail
- Digital ID cards in the carrier’s online portal or mobile app
- Both
If your cards are delayed, check with your carrier or log in to their portal to access a digital version.
Create Your Insurance Carrier Member Account
Once your enrollment has been processed, you’ll want to set up your online account with your insurance carrier.
This gives you access to important details such as:
- Claims and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Deductible and out-of-pocket maximum updates
- Provider networks
- Prescription coverage
- Digital ID cards

When Your Coverage Becomes Active
Your coverage begins on the effective date of your plan, not the day you enroll. Once active, you can visit providers, schedule appointments, and use your benefits according to your plan’s coverage rules.
